  10.14.09 - 2nd Alarm House Fire, 4000 blk. Airport Rd., Hanover Twp., PA

  at 0732 hrs. Lehigh Valley International Airport crash truck 2 reported heavy smoke and flames in the area and investigated. Shortly after, Crash 2 reports a 2-story farm house fully-involved East of Airport Road and North of Schoersville Road. Hanover Company 15 and Han-Le-Co 33 were dispatched. Command special-called for tankers, however, with a hydrant nearby and problems accessing the scene, tankers were recalled. Companies 15, 45, 53, 63 from Northampton County and Han-Le-Co 33 worked at the scene. The fire caused massive rush-hour congestion in the area as Old Airport Road and New Airport Road was closed due to hoses across the highway. Newsworking.org provided the Fire Police with coffee and donuts from Dunkin Donuts. We thank them for allowing us the courtesy to gain access to the fireground. Thanks again! All fire police personnel should be as professional as the Han-Le-Co crew.
